Whittier Community Meeting - Board Elections Edition

  • Denver Public Library: Ford Warren Branch Library 2825 High Street Denver, CO, 80205 United States (map)

This meeting will be a little different as we will be electing leadership for the Whittier Neighborhood Association. All residents of the neighborhood may attend this meeting and vote. Any resident may take an office. The only offices that must be filled are the officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The other offices (for example, Fundraising) are determined by the board as it listens to the concerns and needs of the neighborhood.

So, if you or someone you know would like to do a project in the neighborhood and that area of concern is not listed as one of the jobs, you can bring your idea to the board and the board could open up a new area for the board to work. On the other hand, if you would like to work on a current concern, we are glad to form groups with the relevant board member as an organizer. You don’t have to be on the board to make an impact in the neighborhood!

At our elections on the 11th, the board will nominate the following people to continue in the work they have been doing: Danny Havelick for Vice-President, Scott Holder for Secretary, Gerald Hamel for Fundraising, Karlyn Russell for Communications, and Marcus Owens for Safety/Zoning. Nominations for these offices will be taken from the floor. Others who are interested in joining the board in another capacity, please see Jeff Neuman-Lee and he will gladly meet with you.

WNA Board of Directors terms.

We will have a time for information/interaction with people from the city government, elected representatives, police, relevant not-for-profits, etc. We will make time for folks to talk about neighborhood joys and neighborhood concerns. Join to meet new people and make connections. Coffee and bagels are served.
