This Queen Anne house is one of seven in the neighborhood designed by the architectural firm of Balcomb and Rice. Henry C. Babcock, a prominent Denver businessman purchased four adjoining lots and had this house built on the corner lot in 1891. Note the front porch pediment decorated with floral swags and incised detail. Most unusual are the solid arched supports flanking the offset porch entry. Romanesque influences are evidenced in the narrow eyebrow dormer in the roof peak, which peers over the more prominent roof dormer, and the round top window at the front facade.
