h.      Whittier precinct 212---1 officer guaranteed, 5 total on duty at all times.

i.        Neighborhood officer is extra on top of the 5.

                                                              i.      There were 3 total individuals, living in Aurora, Arvada and Whittier.  

                                                            ii.      They were given probation—a second conviction will get them 2 years in jail.

m.    Whittier arrests are coming down—most activity in Cole and North of 40th.

n.      Dog Park has cleaned up the corner at Fuller Park

o.      City wide crime is up—in Whittier it is down.

c.       “Colorado Youth at Risk”—Glenna Norvelle is the Exec Director 303-623-9140.

                                                              i.      $75,000 for a 3 year program

                                                            ii.      Targeted at Freshman

                                                          iii.      Required by law to be involved to keep program going.

                                                          iv.      Short term goals—keep kids in school

                                                            v.      Long term goals –change culture of education.

                                                          vi.      2 Mentoring programs

1.      Pre-collegiate 2 times per month con in 1-2 hours during advisory period. Full Curriculum so time will be used well. (not 1 on 1).

2.      1 on 1 for 45 kids, 15 from each school, 1 + hour a week time intensive for high risk
